The 2019-20 Premier League season is approaching Sunday as all 20 teams play their final match at 11am ET.
The tournament has returned after a coronavirus disruption in mid-June with each club having nine or 10 matches remaining in their schedule. Fans have been treating the game almost every day and Liverpool wasted time to win the 19th league title after a drought that lasted 30 years a few weeks later. With a day left in the season, the stage is set up for many dramas.
Aston Villa, Watford and Bournemouth enter Sunday when they know relegation is a possibility. All three teams, three points apart and having almost identical goal difference, must fight for a Premier League position. Villa stand in 17th place with 34 points (goal difference -26), while Watford in 18th place has 34 points (-27) and the 19th ranked team is Bournemouth with 31 points (-27). The last day can be fought for when Villa visits West Ham, Watford goes to Arsenal and Bournemouth to Everton.
Who is heading to the Champions League?
The three teams are pursuing the last two Champions League positions. Chelsea need a point against Wolverhampton to secure a top four finish, while Manchester United and Leicester will face off in a qualifying match. Only a point separates third place United from fifth place Leicester.
As if there was not enough drama, Wolves were longing for a victory over Chelsea to win a Europa League berth. Both United and Leicester can win a Champions League position …
