CHICAGO – In one of the most anticipated Naismith Memorial basketball classes for many years, Kobe Bryant, Kevin Garnett and Tim Duncan reached the final round to be inspired in August.
The final round was announced on Friday at the NBA All-Star Weekend, and Hall of Fame Chairman Jerry Colangelo said they hold small this year because of the importance of the players expected to come. Hall. Colangelo said that was the plan before the death of Kobe Bryant.
When we met in Dallas after his death, we had to deal with that, and the way we handled (that was) we would send lots of names, lemon Colangelo said. We will turn it into a small class. We want everyone to have their terms, and that's important and sensitive.
Other finalists: former WNBA started Tamika Catchings, Baylor Kim Mulkey female coach, Bentley University women's coach Barbara Stevens, former NBA coach Rudy Tomjanovich and long-term college basketball coach Eddie Sutton.
Touch income requires 18 of the 24 votes from the selection committee. Those introduced will be announced in the Final Four in April, and Bryant, Garnett and Duncan are expected to be on that list.
